Spoiler Free –
Princess Ever After is the fifth and final instalment of The Rosewood Chronicles, this is the point where we say goodbye to the characters we’ve known and loved for the past five years and it is bittersweet. If you’ve read my blog or followed my social media you will know I’ve supported this series from day one when I managed to get an arc of Undercover Princess at Summer in the City and so it felt very full circle when I was approved for the arc of this book on Netgalley (it was also the day I bought it anyway because Waterstones dropped it early).
Something you always worry about when a series comes to its end is whether it’ll live up to your expectations, will your favourites get the ending you want for them? But I can definitely say I was very satisfied with the ending – the only thing I wish there was more of was actual Rosewood, it was there but as it was the final book (and a lot was going on) the school element was not there so much. However, I can definitely say I am very happy with the endings each character got and I’m glad they all got their own moment rather than just Lottie and Ellie. I definitely shed some tears at the epilogue too – it just made everything so final!
Also without spoiling too much, this plot is insane! I can definitely say the series grew with the reader as I can’t imagine this happening in the first book but I loved the intensity of it! I was glued to my book until the very end – I can definitely say they deserved their endings after all they’ve been through.
Overall, I adored this book and I’m very sad to see this series come to an end but also am very excited for what Connie has to come! If you’ve read the series then you’ll love this and if you haven’t then you’ve got the read the series!!
and thank you to Connie whos given us such a beautiful world with such loveable characters but also for the diversity and queer rep in this book! Little me would’ve loved that and I can’t imagine how helpful it’ll be for other little kids to realise they’re not so alone.
You can buy Princess Ever After in all bookshops right now! go and enjoy it!!
